Looking unto Jesus — chapter by chapter

Good Friday Service 2022, 7:00 - 8:00 PM

Hosanna (Praise Is Rising)

Praise is rising / Eyes are turning to You / We turn to You

Hope is stirring / Hearts are yearning for You / We long for You

‘Cause when we see You, we find strength to face the day

In Your Presence all our fears are washed away, washed away

Hosanna, hosanna / You are the God Who saves us, worthy of all our praises / Hosanna, hosanna / Come have Your way among us / We welcome You here, Lord Jesus

Hear the sound of hearts returning to You / We turn to You

In Your Kingdom broken lives are made new / You make us new

Sweetly Broken

To the cross, I look, and to the cross, I cling

Of it’s suffering, I do drink, of its work, I do sing

On it, my Savior, both bruised and crushed

Showed that God is love and God is just

At the cross you beckon me / You draw me gently to my knees  / And I am lost for words, so lost in love

I’m sweetly broken, wholly surrendered

What a priceless gift, undeserved life / Have I been given through Christ crucified / You’ve called me out of death / You’ve called me into life / And I was under Your wrath

Now, through the cross, I’m reconciled

In awe of the cross, I must confess / How wondrous Your redeeming love / And how great is Your faithfulness

I am broken at Your feet / Like an alabaster jar

Every piece of who I am / Laid before Your majesty

And I will bow my life / At Your feet, at Your feet / My lips, so lost for words / Will kiss Your feet, kiss Your feet

Oh, the gravity of You / Draws my soul unto its knees

I will never be the same / I am lost and found in You

Lead Me to the Cross

Savior I come quiet my soul, remember / Redemption’s hill

Where Your blood was spilled, for my ransom

Everything I once held dear I count it all as loss

Lead me to the cross where Your love poured out

Bring me to my knees Lord I lay me down

Rid me of myself I belong to You

Lead me, lead me to the cross

You were as I, tempted and tried, human / The word became flesh, bore my sin and death / Now you’re risen

Everything I once held dear I count it all as loss

The Bread Has Been Broken

Come to the table and worship the Savior taste what forgiveness is for / His mercy will lead us-the grace of God feed us / Making us hungry for more / His body was broken for you and for me / Look on the cross and believe

The Bread has been broken  / Our eyes have been opened

Oh come Lord restore and renew

The Word has been spoken  / So humble and broken

We do all in remembrance of You

The Bread has been broken and all those who know Him

Believe without touching the scars / His death reconciled us

We live sanctified to believe what we already are / To him who loves us and freed us to love be glory and honor and praise

This Beautiful Place

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross

Where Your beauty met suffering and shame

And all the sin of the world was met with love and grace

And all the power of darkness erase

Oh this beautiful place of glory and pain / Oh what wonderful grace / That You would call my name

You have rescued me  / And saved me from the grave

You have rescued me / And I’ll never be the same

Because of You / Because of You

And there with arms open wide / My Savior bled and died

And spilled His blood that forever cleansed my stains

And there You cried out for me / And for all history

And there I stand forgiven by such grace

The Wonderful Cross

When I survey the wondrous Cross / On which the Prince of Glory died / My richest gain, I count but loss / And pour contempt on all my pride

See from His head, His hands, His feet / Sorrow and love flow mingled down / Did ever such love and sorrow meet? / Or thorns compose, so rich a crown

Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross

Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live

Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross / All who gather here by grace, draw near and bless Your name

Were the whole realm of nature mine

That were an offering far too small

Love so amazing, so divine / Demands my soul, my life, my all

Love so amazing, so divine / Demands my soul, my life, my all

Jesus Paid It All

I hear the Savior say / Thy strength indeed is small

Child of weakness, watch and pray / Find in Me thine all in all

Jesus paid it all / All to Him I owe / Sin had left a crimson stain / He washed it white as snow

Lord, now indeed I find / Thy power and Thine alone

Can change the leper’s spots / And melt the heart of stone

O Praise the one who paid my debt

And raised this life up from the dead…

And when before the throne I stand in Him complete,

Jesus died my soul to save, my lips shall still repeat

O Come to the Alter

Are you hurting and broken within?

Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin? Jesus is calling

Have you come to the end of yourself?

Do you thirst for a drink from the well? Jesus is calling

O come to the altar / The Father’s arms are open wide

Forgiveness was bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ

Leave behind your regrets and mistakes / Come today, there’s no reason to wait / Jesus is calling

Bring your sorrows and trade them for joy / From the ashes, a new life is born / Jesus is calling

O come to the altar / The Father’s arms are open wide

Forgiveness was bought with

The precious blood of Jesus Christ

Oh, what a Savior / Isn’t He wonderful? Sing Hallelujah

Christ is risen / Bow down before Him / For He is Lord of all

Sing Hallelujah, Christ is risen

Bear your cross as you wait for the crown

Tell the world of the treasure you found

Thank You Jesus For the Blood

I was a wretch, I remember who I was

I was lost, I was blind / I was running out of time

Sin separated, the breach was far too wide / But from the far side of the chasm / You held me in your sight

So You made a way across the great divide

Left behind heaven’s throne / to build it here inside

And there at the cross / You paid the debt I owed

Broke my chains, freed my soul / For the first I had hope

Thank you, Jesus, for the blood applied

Thank you, Jesus, it has washed me white

Thank you, Jesus, you have saved my life

Brought me from the darkness / Into glorious light

You took my place / Laid inside my tomb of sin

You were buried for three days / And then You walked right out again / And now death has no sting / And life has no end

For I have been transformed / By the blood of the lamb

There is nothing stronger / Then the wonder working power

Of the blood, the blood / That calls us sons and daughters

We are ransomed by our father / Through the blood, the blood

Glory to His name, glory to His name / There to my heart was the blood applied / Glory to His name
