Statement of Faith

About God

  • Father – God is the source of all life, for there is “one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” (Ephesians 4:6)
  • Creator – God has always been and always will be, for “in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)
  • One – We worship and serve a jealous, singular God who has revealed Himself in three distinct persons, for “The LORD our God, the LORD is one!” (Deuteronomy 6:4)

About Jesus

  • Incarnate – Jesus, the Living Word is the fullness of God in bodily form, for He “became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)
  • Interceding – There is only one person who can intercede on behalf of man to God. Jesus did so by the perfect and complete sacrifice of Himself once for all time, and, having raised from the dead and ascended to the Father, He now prays for us continually, for “He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” (Hebrews 7:25)
  • Imminent – Jesus came to earth once to bear our sin, and “will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:28)

About the Holy Spirit

  • Convicting – As the third person of the Trinity (2 Corinthians 3:17), the Holy Spirit is working to “convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment” (John 16:8)
  • Converting – Since all people are dead in our sins before coming to faith in Christ, they must be brought back to life “through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5)
  • Comforting – After having received Jesus Christ, all believers are given the gift of the Holy Spirit as a “Comforter, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth“ (John 14:16)

About the Word

  • Perfect – The Word of the Lord is trustworthy, and completely flawless, for His “word is very pure; therefore Your servant loves it.” (Psalm 119:140)
  • Complete – There are no missing pieces or prophesies to be added, nor any faulty verses to be removed from the Bible for “You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.” (Deuteronomy 4:2)
  • God-breathed – The Scripture is not a collection of the thoughts of man, and thus, is infallible, for “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • Living and active –The Bible, being a complete and perfect book, is still effectual in speaking to the Church today, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

About Salvation

  • Personal – All people must personally receive salvation from eternal death through Jesus Christ by faith, for “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
  • Available – Any person, no matter what they have done, may believe and be saved, for “Whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
  • Exclusive – Since the price for forgiveness of sins is the death of Jesus Christ, there is not “salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
  • Eternal – The salvation of God is permanent, for “with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption (Hebrews 9:12)

About Church

  • Gather – Since Jesus promised to be present when His people gather in His name, we gather, “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25)
  • Grow – The result of our meeting together is a continual increasing in maturity as we ”grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18)
  • Go – Every believer participates in ministry wherever they are in life since, with Biblical teaching and godly leadership, the church is “equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:12-13)
