Additional questions as time allows (you might decide to ask only one or two of these, or ask your own questions as the Spirit leads):

  • vv.1-2 Do Not Fret – What reason does the Psalmist give us not to fret? Consider also Psalm 39:5 and Psalm 73:17; How can a heavenly perspective impact our day to day lives?
  • vv.3 Trust in the Lord – Compare Matthew 6:25-34. What encouragements does Jesus give us to trust in the Lord? What should we be doing actively instead of worrying?
  • v.4 Delight Yourself in the Lord – In what ways can we be delighting ourselves in the Lord, practically? Compare Jeremiah 31:33. What is the result of delighting ourselves in the Lord?
  • vv.5-6 Commit Your Way to the Lord – What does it look like to commit our ways to the Lord? What can we expect the Lord to do as we commit ourselves to Him? When will verse 6 be ultimately fulfilled, and how can this truth help us to continue committing our ways to the Lord day to day?
