The world measures strength and intelligence on a very different scale than God does. The world runs on stats and numbers. From physical strength to IQ, from influence to accomplishment, numbers are used to determine worth. But God has never played the numbers game. From Abraham the wanderer, to Gideon’s army of 300, to David and his battle cry, to Christ on the cross, to Paul writing to the church in Corinth—and even to this very day—God has been making the same point: His wisdom is not displayed through human impressiveness, but through simple dependence.
