Our lives collectively are meant to reflect God’s wisdom and His design.  When we mature as a church and are able to stand firm, walking in humility and reflecting the love and grace of God to each other and the outside world, it doesn’t just honor those who God used to bring us to this point, but it brings glory to God Himself.
