In the sermon on the mount, Jesus talked about two masters: money and God, and said that you cannot serve them both. He also talked about two roads—the narrow and the wide. All throughout scripture, God is continually calling people to make a decision, and the text that we’ve been studying today is one more example of this.
Once you have been saved, once you have put your trust in Jesus, don’t return let your heart be enticed to sin. Because you know that leads back to slavery. Don’t go back to Egypt! If you’re going to be slaves of something, be slaves of God, slaves of righteousness, because that leads to life.
