As Christians, we must continually return to the original recipe of the Gospel and guard it from anything that would alter it. Even mature believers can drift by allowing traditions, preferences, religious performance, or other secondary issues to overshadow the simple truth that we are justified by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Like Paul, we must resist every temptation to add to the Gospel, remembering that our acceptance before God rests not on our performance, but on Christ’s finished work, which is sufficient, unchanging, and eternally good news.
