Under Zedekiah’s leadership the people briefly obey God in proclaiming liberty to their slaves, but they quickly turn back and disobey again. Conversely, the Rechabites obeyed their earthly fathers and the Lord honors them for it. May we be those who walk in love as God’s dear children, seeking to obey Him because of His perfect love for us, demonstrated in Jesus Christ.
