The remnant of Judah left in the land after the destruction of Jerusalem feigned obedience, asking for the Lord’s direction with no intention of obeying Him. As Jesus told us, blessed are those who not only hear the word of God but also keep it. As those made righteous in Christ, it ought to be our desire to live in a way that is fitting for saints.
